CECC confirms 42,204 more COVID-19 cases, including 42,112 domestic cases and 92 imported cases

On June 29, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 42,204 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 42,204 new cases, 42,112 are domestic and 92 are imported. The CECC announced 85 deaths today.

Regarding the 42,112 new domestic cases, 19,909 are male and 22,183 are female, while the gender of the other 20 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,117 were reported in Taichung City, 5,747 in New Taipei City, 5,139 in Kaohsiung City, 4,040 in Taoyuan City, 3,910 in Tainan City, 3,314 in Taipei City, 2,794 in Changhua County, 1,770 in Pingtung County, 1,154 in Yunlin County, 1,028 in Miaoli County, 981 in Hsinchu County, 895 in Hsinchu City, 870 in Nantou County, 847 in Chiayi County, 812 in Yilan County, 701 in Hualien County, 587 in Chiayi City, 540 in Keelung City, 512 in Taitung County, 198 in Penghu County, 124 in Kinmen County, and 23 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 85 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 46 men and 39 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 92 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 23 and 28, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,361,638 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,630,090. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,728,363 cases. Of the 3,728,363 confirmed cases, 14,521 are imported; 3,713,388 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 6,533 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 6,533 deaths, 6,518 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
