CECC confirms 1 more COVID-19 case; serviceman on Dunmu Fleet confirmed to have COVID-19

On April 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. A total of 427 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. The new confirmed case is an over 20-year-old serviceman aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship, which was part of the Dunmu Fleet. The serviceman was placed under isolation for COVID-19 testing at a group quarantine site on April 18 and tested negative for COVID-19. The serviceman began to have an itchy sore throat and coughing on April 19. He was sent for a second test on April 21 and tested positive on April 23.
  
The CECC reported that 29 Navy members from the cluster infection on the ship have been confirmed to have COVID-19 so far. Health agencies have identified 1,237 individuals as contacts of these confirmed cases of the naval personnel. Among 1,237 contacts, 509 are undergoing home isolation, and 728 are conducting self-health management.
