On May 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced details about vaccination with Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5-11. The CECC had issued a letter on May 16 to instruct the Ministry of Education and local health departments to implement its COVID-19 vaccination program for children; under the program, starting May 25, vaccine shots will be given at schools or designated healthcare facilities according to the immunization schedule.

The CECC pointed out that local health departments will begin COVID-19 vaccination at schools on May 25 through June 1. Children who don't get vaccinated at schools or haven't enrolled in any schools can receive their shots at healthcare facilities designated by their local governments.
