On October 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the seven new imported cases, they are five men and two women, aged between 10 to 69 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US, Cyprus, Malaysia (two cases), Indonesia, Cambodia, and Mongolia. They arrived between October 10 and October 21.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,836,775 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,819,174. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,364 cases. Of the 16,364 confirmed cases, 1,723 are imported; 14,587 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 846 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 846 deaths, 834 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
