CECC confirms 10 more COVID-19 cases, including 9 imported cases

On April 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced ten new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan, with nine being imported and the other one being indigenous. A total of 373 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. With respect to the indigenous case confirmed today, Case #365 is a boy under 5 years old. The boy is a family member of Case #343 and Case #356, and lives with them. The boy had a fever on March 25. Case #343 tested positive for COVID-19 on April 2. The boy’s specimens were collected after he was identified as a contact of Case #343 by health agencies. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 6.

Among nine imported cases, four patients are women, and five patients are men, with their ages ranging between 20 and 49 years old. These patients entered Taiwan between March 21 and April 4, and displayed symptoms between March 10 and April 4. The countries the patients had traveled to before the onset of disease include Iceland, Indonesia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
