On June 19, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that a total of 1,374,956 AstraZeneca shots were administered in Taiwan as of June 18; of the shots administered, 269,056 were given to elderly people aged 75 and older. As of now, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) received 49 reports of death following vaccination with the AstraZeneca vaccine. However, no cases of death have been confirmed to be linked to the vaccine.

The CECC reminds members of the public who are in poor health or who are in an unstable condition due to chronic diseases to get vaccinated after their condition becomes more stable.
