CECC confirms 5 more imported COVID-19 cases

On September 25, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the five new imported cases, they are three men and two women, aged between 10 to 39 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the United Arab Emirates, the US, Ethiopia, the Philippines, and Bangladesh. They arrived between September 10 and September 23.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,267,405 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,249,272. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,181 cases. Of the 16,181 confirmed cases, 1,548 are imported; 14,579 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 841 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 841 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
