CECC confirms 66,189 more COVID-19 cases, including 66,119 domestic cases and 70 imported cases

On June 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 66,189 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 66,189 new cases, 66,119 are domestic and 70 are imported. The CECC announced 123 deaths today.

Regarding the 66,119 new domestic cases, 32,025 are male and 34,070 are female, while the gender of the other 24 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 10,210 were reported in Taichung City, 9,625 in Kaohsiung City, 7,857 in New Taipei City, 6,288 in Tainan City, 5,239 in Changhua County, 4,898 in Taoyuan City, 4,195 in Taipei City, 3,249 in Pingtung County, 1,861 in Yunlin County, 1,681 in Miaoli County, 1,650 in Nantou County, 1,609 in Hsinchu County, 1,418 in Chiayi County, 1,295 in Yilan County, 1,155 in Hsinchu City, 962 in Hualien County, 912 in Chiayi City, 832 in Keelung City, 787 in Taitung County, 250 in Penghu County, 126 in Kinmen County, and 20 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 123 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 62 men and 61 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 70 new imported cases, they were 44 men and 26 women ranging in age from under five to 79 years. Of the cases, eight arrived from the US, and one each from Thailand, Germany, Vietnam, and Spain; the areas the remaining 58 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between June 9 and 13, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 12,379,514 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,374,140. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,003,501 cases. Of the 3,003,501 confirmed cases, 13,535 are imported; 2,989,912 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 4,403 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 4,403 deaths, 4,388 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
