In the morning of January 4, 2009, the Department of Health (DOH) announced the latest list of expert consultants on the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP).The list consist of 20 expert consultants who will serve VICP for two years, from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011. The expert consultants include 7 legal professionals or social justice representatives and 7 female consultants. DOH welcomes recommendations from all fields for the remaining expert consultants.

The first conference to be convened by VICP is planned to be held on January 7, 2010.

DOH stressed that VICP in Taiwan, like those in other developed countries, which was established by law, functions independently and is not affiliated with any government sector.
