On September 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32,812 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32,812 new cases, 32,529 are domestic and 283 are imported. The CECC announced 42 deaths today.
Regarding the 32,529 new domestic cases, 14,895 are male and 17,624 are female, while the gender of the other 10 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,902 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,104 in Taipei City, 3,823 in Taichung City, 3,667 in Taoyuan City, 2,485 in Kaohsiung City, 2,045 in Tainan City, 1,305 in Changhua County, 1,115 in Hsinchu County, 966 in Hsinchu City, 816 in Miaoli County, 805 in Pingtung County, 777 in Yunlin County, 660 in Yilan County, 646 in Hualien County, 577 in Keelung City, 471 in Chiayi County, 459 in Nantou County, 327 in Chiayi City, 225 in Taitung County, 179 in Penghu County, 155 in Kinmen County, and 20 in Lienchiang County.
Regarding the 42 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 19 men and 23 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.
Regarding the 283 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 3 and September 2, 2022.
The CECC reported that a total of 16,346,624 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,929,979. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,408,641 cases. Of the 5,408,641 confirmed cases, 28,676 are imported; 5,379,911 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,028 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,028 deaths, 10,012 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
