On October 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 35,702 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 35,702 new cases, 35,640 are domestic and 62 are imported. The CECC announced 84 deaths today.

Regarding the 35,640 new domestic cases, 16,308 are male and 19,306 are female, while the gender of the other 26 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,149 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,851 in Taichung City, 4,233 in Kaohsiung City, 3,545 in Taoyuan City, 3,469 in Taipei City, 3,147 in Tainan City, 1,902 in Changhua County, 1,180 in Pingtung County, 871 in Yunlin County, 850 in Hsinchu County, 790 in Miaoli County, 786 in Hsinchu City, 714 in Chiayi County, 703 in Nantou County, 583 in Yilan County, 482 in Chiayi City, 476 in Keelung City, 389 in Hualien County, 245 in Taitung County, 157 in Kinmen County, 105 in Penghu County, and 13 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 84 deaths announced today, they were 47 men and 37 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were all severe cases.

Regarding the 62 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 26 and October 26, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,208,743 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,614,444. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,591,541 cases. Of the 7,591,541 confirmed cases, 36,232 are imported; 7,555,255 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,563 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,563 deaths, 12,546 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
