According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC),as of 10am on December 11, 2009, the total number of people who have received the pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine is over 3.2 million.On-campus vaccination campaigns in Lianjiang County, Yilan County, and Jiayi County have been completed.In addition, on-campus vaccination campaigns in Hualien County, Taitung County and Taoyuan County are expected to be completed by the end of December 11, 2009.On-campus vaccination campaigns in 94% of the schools in the nation are expected to be completed by December 15, 2009.
CECC reminded that the campaign to vaccinate the entire population against pandemic influenza A (H1N1) would begin on December 12, 2009.People can get pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccines at contracted hospitals administering the vaccine upon presentation of their National Health Insurance card and ID card (child health handbook is required of pre-school children).To facilitate the vaccination campaign, all contracted hospitals and local health units in the nation were asked to remain open during the weekend of December 12 and 13, 2009 and temporary vaccination stations will be set up. The flow of the vaccination process is as followed: following personnel guidance, undergoing physician’s assessment, getting vaccinated and participating in 30-minute post-vaccination observation. The list of contracted hospitals administering pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine and temporary vaccination stations is available on the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (Taiwan CDC) website.Taiwan CDC has mobilized its entire staff to assist in the nationwide vaccination campaign.
