CECC confirms 38,980 more COVID-19 cases, including 38,785 domestic cases and 195 imported cases

On September 25, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 38,980 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 38,980 new cases, 38,785 are domestic and 195 are imported. The CECC announced 34 deaths today.

Regarding the 38,785 new domestic cases, 18,046 are male and 20,726 are female, while the gender of the other 13 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 8,016 were reported in New Taipei City, 5,028 in Taichung City, 4,370 in Taipei City, 4,098 in Taoyuan City, 3,733 in Kaohsiung City, 2,451 in Tainan City, 2,036 in Changhua County, 1,043 in Hsinchu County, 1,006 in Hsinchu City, 958 in Pingtung County, 953 in Yilan County, 853 in Miaoli County, 823 in Yunlin County, 739 in Keelung City, 689 in Nantou County, 568 in Chiayi County, 476 in Hualien County, 370 in Chiayi City, 286 in Taitung County, 160 in Kinmen County, 108 in Penghu County, and 21 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 34 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 14 men and 20 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 195 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 21 and September 24, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 17,567,153 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,310,244. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 6,250,051 cases. Of the 6,250,051 confirmed cases, 33,763 are imported; 6,216,234 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,828 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,828 deaths, 10,812 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
