On June 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 76,564 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 76,564 new cases, 76,517 are domestic and 47 are imported. The CECC announced 142 deaths today.

Regarding the 76,517 new domestic cases, 35,999 are male and 40,480 are female, while the gender of the other 38 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 11,766 were reported in New Taipei City, 10,790 in Kaohsiung City, 10,651 in Taichung City, 7,196 in Taoyuan City, 6,620 in Tainan City, 6,143 in Taipei City, 4,593 in Changhua County, 2,951 in Pingtung County, 2,139 in Hsinchu County, 1,784 in Miaoli County, 1,616 in Hsinchu City, 1,542 in Yilan County, 1,528 in Yunlin County, 1,423 in Nantou County, 1,295 in Keelung City, 1,246 in Hualien County, 1,194 in Chiayi County, 911 in Taitung County, 708 in Chiayi City, 233 in Penghu County, 155 in Kinmen County, and 33 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 142 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 87 men and 55 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 47 new imported cases, they were 22 men and 25 women ranging in age from under 10 to 79 years. Of the cases, two arrived from the US and one each from France, Spain, and Indonesia. The areas the remaining 42 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between June 1 and 2, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 11,459,220 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,189,517. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 2,274,666 cases. Of the 2,274,666 confirmed cases, 13,098 are imported; 2,261,514 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 2,663 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 2,663 deaths, 2,648 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
