Starting April 18, arrivals on flights from US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia to take saliva test at the airport as COVID-19 pandemic slows down in these four countries; arrivals urged to abide by new rules

On April 15, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that the positivity rates have remained at a low level recently among travelers arriving in Taiwan on flights from the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, and the pandemic has slowed down in these countries. In consideration of these developments, the CECC announced that testing upon landing will not be required for travelers arriving on flights from these four countries starting 00:00 on April 18 (time of arrival in Taiwan); instead, such arrivals will be required to cooperate in undergoing a saliva test at the airport and undertaking quarantine measures after entry.
