CECC confirms 16,561 more COVID-19 cases, including 16,538 domestic cases and 23 imported cases

On November 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 16,561 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 16,561 new cases, 16,538 are domestic and 23 are imported. The CECC announced 34 deaths today.

Regarding the 16,538 new domestic cases, 7,783 are male and 8,746 are female, while the gender of the other nine cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,720 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,375 in Taichung City, 2,229 in Kaohsiung City, 1,760 in Taoyuan City, 1,515 in Tainan City, 1,339 in Taipei City, 843 in Changhua County, 536 in Pingtung County, 437 in Hsinchu County, 375 in Miaoli County, 369 in Nantou County, 367 in Yunlin County, 329 in Chiayi County, 323 in Hsinchu City, 214 in Keelung City, 212 in Yilan County, 212 in Chiayi City, 172 in Hualien County, 83 in Taitung County, 64 in Penghu County, 59 in Kinmen County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 34 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 15 men and 19 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 23 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 7 and November 6, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,579,102 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,672,288. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,904,094 cases. Of the 7,904,094 confirmed cases, 36,682 are imported; 7,867,358 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,232 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,232 deaths, 13,215 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
