CECC confirms 41,438 more COVID-19 cases, including 41,364 domestic cases and 74 imported cases

On October 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 41,438 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 41,438 new cases, 41,364 are domestic and 74 are imported. The CECC announced 36 deaths today.

Regarding the 41,364 new domestic cases, 19,160 are male and 22,193 are female, while the gender of the other 11 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 7,719 were reported in New Taipei City, 5,657 in Taichung City, 4,392 in Kaohsiung City, 3,959 in Taipei City, 3,836 in Taoyuan City, 3,153 in Tainan City, 2,543 in Changhua County, 1,299 in Pingtung County, 1,103 in Yunlin County, 1,052 in Yilan County, 1,000 in Miaoli County, 999 in Hsinchu County, 809 in Chiayi County, 767 in Hsinchu City, 714 in Nantou County, 606 in Keelung City, 599 in Hualien County, 522 in Chiayi City, 255 in Taitung County, 207 in Kinmen County, 157 in Penghu County, and 16 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 36 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 21 men and 15 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 74 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 10 and October 10, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 18,454,869 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,507,115. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 6,945,018 cases. Of the 6,945,018 confirmed cases, 35,524 are imported; 6,909,440 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 11,620 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 11,620 deaths, 11,604 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
