Cumulative total of 379 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Taiwan; 67 patients released from isolation

On April 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that 1,701 additional cases related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were reported on April 7. As of writing, a cumulative total of 40,702 cases have been reported among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 35,529. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 379 cases (Cases #377-379 confirmed today). Of 379 confirmed cases in Taiwan, 326 are imported and 53 are indigenous. Of the confirmed cases, there have been 5 deaths, and 67 patients have been released from isolation while the remainder remains hospitalized in isolation.
