CECC confirms 25,692 more COVID-19 cases, including 25,521 domestic cases and 171 imported cases

On July 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 25,692 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 25,692 new cases, 25,521 are domestic and 171 are imported. The CECC announced 28 deaths today.

Regarding the 25,521 new domestic cases, 11,812 are male and 13,695 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,504 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,168 in Taichung City, 2,680 in Taoyuan City, 2,630 in Kaohsiung City, 2,573 in Taipei City, 2,032 in Tainan City, 1,231 in Changhua County, 781 in Pingtung County, 750 in Miaoli County, 694 in Hsinchu County, 631 in Yunlin County, 609 in Yilan County, 603 in Hsinchu City, 497 in Chiayi County, 460 in Hualien County, 424 in Nantou County, 346 in Keelung City, 322 in Chiayi City, 280 in Taitung County, 151 in Penghu County, 146 in Kinmen County, and nine in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 28 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 18 men and 10 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 171 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 28 and July 26, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,666,059 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,161,902. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,498,416 cases. Of the 4,498,416 confirmed cases, 19,120 are imported; 4,479,242 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,714 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,714 deaths, 8,699 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
