CECC confirms 28,449 more COVID-19 cases, including 28,210 domestic cases and 239 imported cases

On September 19, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 28,449 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 28,449 new cases, 28,210 are domestic and 239 are imported. The CECC announced 31 deaths today.

Regarding the 28,210 new domestic cases, 13,177 are male and 15,017 are female, while the gender of the other 16 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,028 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,517 in Taichung City, 3,403 in Taoyuan City, 3,232 in Taipei City, 2,166 in Kaohsiung City, 1,567 in Tainan City, 1,488 in Changhua County, 907 in Hsinchu County, 709 in Miaoli County, 693 in Hsinchu City, 687 in Pingtung County, 630 in Yunlin County, 569 in Yilan County, 566 in Keelung City, 560 in Nantou County, 434 in Hualien County, 357 in Chiayi County, 265 in Chiayi City, 195 in Taitung County, 121 in Penghu County, 90 in Kinmen County, and 26 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 31 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 14 men and 17 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 239 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 9 and September 18, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 17,210,248 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,204,324. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,998,860 cases. Of the 5,998,860 confirmed cases, 32,421 are imported; 5,966,385 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,579 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,579 deaths, 10,563 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
