On September 5, 2009, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that a list of clinics and hospitals treating patients with influenza in the nation is now available online.At least 1500 clinics and hospitals in the nation provide medical care for patients with influenza.Local health bureaus have all published the list on their websites for the public’s reference.The list is also available for reference on the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control website.
Further, CECC stressed that all the National Health Insurance hospitals can provide medical care for patients with influenza as long as they are willing to treat such patients beginning August 15, 2009. Therefore, the number of hospitals that can treat patients with influenza is actually a lot more than the number listed.The listed hospitals are hospital that the local health bureaus have assisted in getting Tamiflu and have been confirmed to provide medical care for patients with influenza.
CECC indicated that the list is published for convenience purpose and will be modified accordingly.
On the other hand, CECC announced the latest pandemic influenza A (H1N1) epidemic update in Taiwan.Most inpatient cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) infection have recovered and been discharged.Currently, 42 cases are still hospitalized.Since the outbreak has yet to reach its peak, the public is urged to follow the disease control measures implemented by the government, conduct self-health management, wash hands frequently, wear a mask when sick, and remain vigilant but refrain from over-panicking.
