On April 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan, with six being imported and the other one being indigenous. A total of 355 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. With respect to the one indigenous case confirmed today, Case #352 is an over 40-year-old male with no recent travel history. He sought medical attention at a clinic for a fever on March 30, and went to the same clinic for a loss of sense of smell and taste on April 1. He sought medical care at a hospital the next day, and was then admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 testing. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 4. An investigation into individuals who had contact with the case is underway to identify the source of infection.

Among six imported cases, four patients are women, and two patients are men, with their ages ranging between 20 and 69 years old. These patients entered Taiwan between March 15 and April 2, and displayed symptoms between March 16 and March 30. The regions the patients had traveled to before the onset of disease include Germany, South America, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
