PublishTime:2022-06-24
On June 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will loosen visitation management measures for residential long-term care facilities nationwide, effective from June 24. Key points are listed below.

I. Eased visitation management measures for residential long-term care facilities nationwide:
A. The previous ban on visitors in residential long-term care facilities in Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Taoyuan City, Kaohsiung City, and Hualien County, with certain exceptions, will be lifted, and residential long-term care facilities across Taiwan can conditionally allow visitors.
B. Visitors must present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test (including at-home rapid test) taken on the day of their visit. Visitors can be exempted from screening if they have received a COVID-19 booster shot for at least 14 days or if they have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have met the criteria for release from isolation, and 15 days to three months have passed since the onset of symptoms or the positive test (applicable to asymptomatic individuals).

II. Vaccine dose requirements for individuals accompanying residents/staying overnight:
A. The criterion for COVID-19 test exemptions for individuals accompanying residents/overnight visitors will be changed to receiving a COVID-19 booster shot at least 14 days ago. Individuals can be exempted from testing if they have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and released from isolation, and 15 days to three months have passed since the date of the onset of symptoms or the positive test (applicable to asymptomatic individuals).
B. Individuals accompanying residents who have not received a COVID-19 booster dose for at least 14 days should present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test (including at-home rapid test) taken on the day of their visit; those staying overnight with residents should take a self-paid screening test (including at-home rapid test) every seven days if they haven't received their booster doses for at least 14 days, and no one else can fill in for them.
