To rebut a recently published report concerning vaccine shortages in remote regions, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (Taiwan CDC) says the report is false and misleading. As of now, a total of over 36,000 doses of influenza vaccine remain available in the nation and the vaccine supplies in remote regions remain strong.People seeking the influenza vaccine are advised to contact local health bureau for assistance with getting vaccinated.
Taiwan CDC further states that the cities and counties that have been falsely reported to run short of influenza vaccine supplies, including Yunlin County, Jiayi County, Taichung City and Nantou County, still have the vaccine in good supply.Currently, Yunlin County has 1,066 doses of adult influenza vaccine, Jiayi County has 1,127 doses of adult influenza vaccine, Taichung City has 3,974 doses of adult influenza vaccine and Nantou County has 1,704 doses of adult influenza vaccine.Influenza vaccines remain available in all cities and counties in the nation and can be redistributed locally to meet demand when there is a temporary shortage.Local health bureaus will proactively redistribute the supply of influenza vaccine to suit local demands. The public is advised to contact the local health bureau to check on the vaccine supply prior to getting vaccinations.
