CECC confirms 45,470 more COVID-19 cases, including 45,269 domestic cases and 201 imported cases

On September 15, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 45,470 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 45,470 new cases, 45,269 are domestic and 201 are imported. The CECC announced 57 deaths today.

Regarding the 45,269 new domestic cases, 20,378 are male and 24,886 are female, while the gender of the other five cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 9,775 were reported in New Taipei City, 5,854 in Taichung City, 5,401 in Taipei City, 4,758 in Taoyuan City, 3,704 in Kaohsiung City, 2,662 in Tainan City, 2,091 in Changhua County, 1,304 in Hsinchu County, 1,204 in Hsinchu City, 1,140 in Pingtung County, 1,089 in Miaoli County, 1,050 in Yilan County, 975 in Keelung City, 972 in Yunlin County, 842 in Nantou County, 689 in Hualien County, 685 in Chiayi County, 461 in Chiayi City, 289 in Taitung County, 161 in Kinmen County, 142 in Penghu County, and 21 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 57 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 33 men and 24 women ranging in age from 10 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 201 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 19 and September 14, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 16,995,805 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,139,106. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,849,748 cases. Of the 5,849,748 confirmed cases, 31,491 are imported; 5,818,203 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,4236 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,423 deaths, 10,407 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
