On January 31, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32,287 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32,287 new cases, 32,023 are domestic and 264 are imported. The CECC announced 32 deaths today.

Regarding the 32,023 new domestic cases, 14,536 are male and 17,472 are female, while the gender of the other 15 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,815 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,946 in Kaohsiung City, 3,936 in Taichung City, 3,427 in Taoyuan City, 2,935 in Tainan City, 2,790 in Taipei City, 1,586 in Changhua County, 952 in Hsinchu County, 900 in Miaoli County, 895 in Pingtung County, 854 in Yunlin County, 667 in Hsinchu City, 616 in Yilan County, 514 in Chiayi County, 494 in Nantou County, 481 in Keelung City, 458 in Hualien County, 270 in Chiayi City, 220 in Taitung County, 134 in Kinmen County, 123 in Penghu County, and 10 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 32 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 17 men and 15 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 264 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 14, 2022, and January 30, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,670,775 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,131,624. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,537,823 cases. Of the 9,537,823 confirmed cases, 48,584 are imported; 9,489,185 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 16,308 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 16,308 deaths, 16,287 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
