On January 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 22,291 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 22,291 new cases, 22,138 are domestic and 153 are imported. The CECC announced 30 deaths today.

Regarding the 22,138 new domestic cases, 9,995 are male and 12,138 are female, while the gender of the other five cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,109 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,799 in Taoyuan City, 2,772 in Taichung City, 2,492 in Kaohsiung City, 1,936 in Taipei City, 1,601 in Tainan City, 1,033 in Changhua County, 873 in Hsinchu County, 603 in Miaoli County, 546 in Hsinchu City, 537 in Pingtung County, 482 in Keelung City, 452 in Yunlin County, 377 in Nantou County, 376 in Yilan County, 294 in Hualien County, 291 in Chiayi County, 193 in Chiayi City, 158 in Taitung County, 126 in Kinmen County, 82 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 30 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 17 men and 13 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 153 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 14, 2022, and January 29, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,629,802 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,122,631. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,505,551 cases. Of the 9,505,551 confirmed cases, 48,398 are imported; 9,457,099 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 16,276 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 16,276 deaths, 16,255 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
