On September 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced six new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the six new cases, two are domestic and the other four are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the two new domestic cases, Case #16254 is an over 20-year-old female. She took a self-paid COVID-19 test on September 19 because she needed travel abroad. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 20. Case #16255 is a boy under 5. He was tested for COVID-19 on September 19 before the end of his isolation period because his family member (Case #16150) who live with him was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are three men and one woman, aged between under 5 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Cambodia (two cases), Indonesia, and the United States. They arrived between September 7 and September 17.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,154,941 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,137,397. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,147 cases. Of the 16,147 confirmed cases, 1,515 are imported; 14,578 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 840 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 840 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 11 are from imported cases.
