CECC confirms 15,094 more COVID-19 cases, including 14,795 domestic cases and 299 imported cases

On February 18, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 15,094 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 15,094 new cases, 14,795 are domestic and 299 are imported. The CECC announced 55 deaths (including one imported case) today.

Regarding the 14,795 new domestic cases, 6,704 are male and 8,086 are female, while the gender of the other five cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,581 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,815 in Taichung City, 1,764 in Taoyuan City, 1,761 in Kaohsiung City, 1,362 in Tainan City, 1,313 in Taipei City, 720 in Changhua County, 471 in Hsinchu County, 408 in Pingtung County, 328 in Yunlin County, 354 in Yilan County, 310 in Miaoli County, 304 in Hsinchu City, 249 in Nantou County, 240 in Hualien County, 235 in Keelung City, 229 in Chiayi County, 125 in Chiayi City, 99 in Taitung County, 56 in Kinmen County, 30 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 54 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 33 men and 21 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 299 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between January 18 and February 16, 2023.

The CECC data showed that since 2020, there have been a cumulative total of 9,909,368 confirmed cases and a cumulative total of 17,452 COVID-19 deaths in Taiwan.
