On August 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that both the fourth round of name-based rationing system for at-home rapid test kits and the third round of the program to provide a pack of five free rapid test kits to each child aged six or under will start on August 15, 2022. As there is a sufficient supply of rapid test kits under the name-based distribution system, everyone will be allowed to purchase up to two packs (ten test kits), one additional pack from the previous limit of one pack only, to meet the public demand for rapid tests. People can purchase two packs of rapid tests at a time or separately (purchasing on behalf of others is allowed). One pack (five test kits) is still priced at NT$500. People who need rapid tests and are eligible to get them can purchase/collect rapid test kits by presenting their NHI cards at NHI-contracted drugstores or public health centers which sell rapid test kits under the name-based distribution system.
