On September 15, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the five new cases, one is domestic and the other four are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic case, the case is an over 20-year-old female. She experienced a mild runny nose and dizziness on September 12. She was tested for COVID-19 on September 14 due to work requirements, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 15.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are three men and one woman, aged between 20 to 59 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from France, the US (two cases), and the Philippines, and they arrived between August 31 and September 13.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,057,142 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,039,848. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,103 cases. Of the 16,103 confirmed cases, 1,478 are imported; 14,571 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 839 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 839 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 10 are from imported cases.
