CECC confirms 25,583 more COVID-19 cases, including 25,346 domestic cases and 237 imported cases

On September 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 25,583 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 25,583 new cases, 25,346 are domestic and 237 are imported. The CECC announced 28 deaths today.

Regarding the 25,346 new domestic cases, 11,833 are male and 13,506 are female, while the gender of the other seven cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,205 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,006 in Taipei City, 2,946 in Taichung City, 2,699 in Taoyuan City, 2,054 in Kaohsiung City, 1,549 in Tainan City, 1,309 in Changhua County, 829 in Hsinchu County, 735 in Pingtung County, 635 in Hsinchu City, 602 in Yilan County, 594 in Nantou County, 564 in Miaoli County, 562 in Yunlin County, 510 in Keelung City, 468 in Hualien County, 355 in Chiayi County, 234 in Chiayi City, 206 in Taitung County, 147 in Kinmen County, 121 in Penghu County, and 22 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 28 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 18 men and 10 women ranging in age from 60 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 237 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 12 and September 11, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 16,795,385 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,080,974. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,707,688 cases. Of the 5,707,688 confirmed cases, 30,899 are imported; 5,676,735 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,312 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,312 deaths, 10,296 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
