On February 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 49 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 49 new cases, two are domestic and 47 are imported (28 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are one man and one woman, aged between under 10 and 29 years.

Regarding the 47 new imported cases, they are 28 men and 19 women, aged between under 10 and 79 years. 25 of them arrived in Taiwan from the US (18 cases), Malaysia (two cases), the Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg; the areas where the remaining 22 cases arrived are being investigated. They all arrived between November 24, 2021, and February 6, 2022.

Additionally, the imported Case #18761, Case #18786, and Case #19042 have been reclassified as domestic cases according to virus sequence information and epidemiological investigations.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,775,939 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,756,095. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 19,192 cases. Of the 19,192 confirmed cases, 3,936 are imported; 15,202 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 129 cases (one newly added; removed after testing negative the second time) have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 851 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 851 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
