CECC confirms 34,274 more COVID-19 cases, including 34,242 domestic cases and 32 imported cases

On November 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 34,274 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 34,274 new cases, 34,242 are domestic and 32 are imported. The CECC announced 46 deaths today.

Regarding the 34,242 new domestic cases, 16,057 are male and 18,173 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,660 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,731 in Taichung City, 4,285 in Kaohsiung City, 3,365 in Tainan City, 3,036 in Taipei City, 3,017 in Taoyuan City, 1,970 in Changhua County, 1,179 in Pingtung County, 1,008 in Yunlin County, 761 in Hsinchu County, 745 in Nantou County, 733 in Miaoli County, 724 in Chiayi County, 717 in Hsinchu City, 573 in Yilan County, 465 in Chiayi City, 399 in Hualien County, 361 in Keelung City, 282 in Taitung County, 119 in Kinmen County, 101 in Penghu County, and 11 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 46 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 22 men and 24 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 32 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 1 and October 31, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,390,778 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,641,036. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,746,969 cases. Of the 7,746,969 confirmed cases, 36,420 are imported; 7,710,495 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,876 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,876 deaths, 12,859 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
