CECC announces evaluation process for receiving oral antiviral drugs for individuals aged 65 and older who are not under home isolation/quarantine/self-initiated epidemic prevention and test positive with rapid tests starting May 18

On May 16, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that in order to reduce the risk of developing severe COVID-19 following infection among individuals aged 65 and older with severe risk factors, effective from May 18, individuals in this group can be prescribed antiviral medication Paxlovid after they test positive with COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, have their results confirmed by doctors, reach a consensus with doctors, and doctors report them as confirmed cases and conduct an evaluation on the use of Paxlovid.
