On December 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 14 new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the 14 new imported cases, they are nine men and five women, aged between 20 to 49 years old. 13 of them arrived in Taiwan from the US (five cases), Italy, Indonesia, Poland, the UK, Cambodia, and Vietnam (three cases), and the country where the remaining one case arrived is being investigated. They all arrived between October 7 and December 19.

The CECC reported that a total of 4,813,164 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 4,794,827. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,840 cases. Of the 16,840 confirmed cases, 2,187 are imported; 14,599 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 111 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 850 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 850 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
