CECC confirms 38,942 more COVID-19 cases, including 38,846 domestic cases and 96 imported cases

On June 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 38,942 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 38,942 new cases, 38,846 are domestic and 96 are imported. The CECC announced 118 deaths today.

Regarding the 38,846 new domestic cases, 18,066 are male and 20,763 are female, while the gender of the other 17 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 5,639 were reported in Taichung City, 5,339 in New Taipei City, 4,924 in Kaohsiung City, 3,723 in Taoyuan City, 3,363 in Tainan City, 3,082 in Taipei City, 2,631 in Changhua County, 1,571 in Pingtung County, 1,114 in Yunlin County, 942 in Miaoli County, 881 in Nantou County, 872 in Hsinchu County, 809 in Chiayi County, 808 in Hsinchu City, 718 in Yilan County, 666 in Hualien County, 493 in Keelung City, 483 in Chiayi City, 467 in Taitung County, 178 in Penghu County, 129 in Kinmen County, and 14 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 118 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 62 men and 56 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 96 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 24 and 29, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,419,839 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,648,425. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,767,283 cases. Of the 3,767,283 confirmed cases, 14,618 are imported; 3,752,611 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 6,651 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 6,651 deaths, 6,636 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
