On November 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 16,236 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 16,236 new cases, 16,197 are domestic and 39 are imported. The CECC announced 43 deaths today.

Regarding the 16,197 new domestic cases, 7,425 are male and 8,763 are female, while the gender of the other nine cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,624 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,068 in Kaohsiung City, 1,924 in Taichung City, 1,649 in Taoyuan City, 1,564 in Tainan City, 1,485 in Taipei City, 820 in Changhua County, 556 in Pingtung County, 515 in Hsinchu County, 466 in Hsinchu City, 433 in Yunlin County, 374 in Miaoli County, 292 in Chiayi County, 280 in Nantou County, 243 in Keelung City, 231 in Yilan County, 215 in Hualien County, 213 in Chiayi City, 121 in Taitung County, 74 in Kinmen County, 47 in Penghu County, and three in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 43 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 25 men and 18 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 39 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 20 and November 18, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,905,557 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,739,831. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,163,008 cases. Of the 8,163,008 confirmed cases, 37,257 are imported; 8,125,697 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,950 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,950 deaths, 13,933 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
