CECC confirms 6 more imported COVID-19 cases

On November 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced six new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The CECC announced one death today.

Regarding the six new imported cases, they are four men and two women, aged between 20 to 59 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Thailand, Ukraine, South Africa, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, and the US. They arrived between October 26 and November 7.

The CECC pointed out that the one death (Case #8724) announced today was an over 90-year-old female with chronic disease and history of contact with confirmed cases.

The CECC reported that a total of 4,122,554 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 4,104,900. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,451 cases. Of the 16,451 confirmed cases, 1,807 are imported; 14,590 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 111 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 848 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 848 deaths, 836 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
