Behind every award-winning film there is an interesting and touching story.Being a special education teacher, Mr. Wu, the Grand Prize winner of the video contest, was familiar in using various techniques to promote learning. In his video “One-man Chorus”, Mr. Wu turned the H1N1 prevention warning into a song, which was easy to remember.Mr. Wu spent much time on producing simple motion pictures to make the video awesome. The Second Prize went to Mr. Huang and his classmates. The prize-winning team used the big idea, “Exchange of Hearts”, to explain H1N1 prevention tips and to reduce the sense of alienation among people. In the video, healthcare key messages such as “keep your hands clean” and “wear a mask when you cough” were conveyed through actual acts of care and concerns for other people. The Third Prize winner, “Ma’am, don’t misunderstand me”, was Mr. Lin, who was also a teacher. With a Taiwanese rap, Mr. Lin educated people about H1N1 prevention. The short film was re-shot for 20 times with the help of Mr. Lin’s mother, who played the role “Mother Spicy”, and his cousin, who played “Coaxing”.Mr. Lin would like to show his gratitude for their effort. The additional Third Prize was awarded to the students of Guang-Xing Elementary School. Most of the students’ families are not rich.In order to earn money for their graduation trip, the students did their best to produce the video to join the contest. To meet the actual demand for campaign in villages, the language of this video is Taiwanese.During the production of the video, the students learned much about H1N1 prevention. The teacher and the students were all excited about winning the additional Third Prize.
