CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; the case arrives in Taiwan from Spain

On January 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new, Case #871, is a Taiwanese woman in her 20s. She traveled to Spain in December 2019 and returned to Taiwan on January 8, 2021. During the home quarantine period, the woman experienced a cough, a sore throat, and an abnormal sense of smell on January 17. The health authority arranged for her to be tested on January 18, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on January 20.
