CECC confirms 13,019 more COVID-19 cases, including 12,981 domestic cases and 38 imported cases

On December 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 13,019 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 13,019 new cases, 12,981 are domestic and 38 are imported. The CECC announced 29 deaths today.

Regarding the 12,981 new domestic cases, 5,936 are male and 7,037 are female, while the gender of the other eight cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,110 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,706 in Taichung City, 1,671 in Kaohsiung City, 1,470 in Taoyuan City, 1,081 in Taipei City, 1,056 in Tainan City, 696 in Changhua County, 423 in Pingtung County, 415 in Hsinchu County, 402 in Hsinchu City, 331 in Miaoli County, 312 in Yunlin County, 207 in Chiayi County, 195 in Yilan County, 195 in Nantou County, 195 in Hualien County, 168 in Chiayi City, 161 in Keelung City, 95 in Taitung County, 59 in Kinmen County, 31 in Penghu County, and two in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 29 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 16 men and 13 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 38 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 5 and December 3, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,177,450 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,807,302. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,369,226 cases. Of the 8,369,226 confirmed cases, 37,925 are imported; 8,331,247 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,478 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,478 deaths, 14,461 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
