CECC confirms 45,767 more COVID-19 cases, including 45,678 domestic cases and 89 imported cases

On June 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 45,767 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 45,767 new cases, 45,678 are domestic and 89 are imported. The CECC announced 152 deaths today.

Regarding the 45,678 new domestic cases, 21,087 are male and 24,558 are female, while the gender of the other 33 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 6,667 were reported in Taichung City, 6,413 in Kaohsiung City, 5,808 in New Taipei City, 4,347 in Tainan City, 4,020 in Taoyuan City, 3,318 in Changhua County, 3,189 in Taipei City, 2,136 in Pingtung County, 1,406 in Yunlin County, 1,134 in Nantou County, 1,033 in Miaoli County, 999 in Hsinchu County, 885 in Chiayi County, 866 in Hsinchu City, 783 in Yilan County, 669 in Hualien County, 590 in Chiayi City, 558 in Keelung City, 461 in Taitung County, 209 in Penghu County, 151 in Kinmen County, and 36 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 152 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 91 men and 61 women ranging in age from 10 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 89 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 16 and 23, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,084,221 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,547,671. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,533,335 cases. Of the 3,533,335 confirmed cases, 14,120 are imported; 3,519,161 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 5,969 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 5,969 deaths, 5,954 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
