CECC confirms 27,350 more COVID-19 cases, including 27,105 domestic cases and 245 imported cases

On January 29, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 27,350 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 27,350 new cases, 27,105 are domestic and 245 are imported. The CECC announced 21 (including one imported case) deaths today.

Regarding the 27,105 new domestic cases, 12,020 are male and 15,073 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,462 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,226 in Taichung City, 3,181 in Kaohsiung City, 3,139 in Taoyuan City, 2,450 in Taipei City, 2,197 in Tainan City, 1,239 in Changhua County, 782 in Hsinchu County, 733 in Hsinchu City, 663 in Pingtung County, 662 in Miaoli County, 564 in Yunlin County, 562 in Keelung City, 477 in Yilan County, 410 in Nantou County, 384 in Chiayi County, 333 in Hualien County, 264 in Chiayi City, 168 in Taitung County, 131 in Kinmen County, 72 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 21 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were nine men and 12 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 245 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between December 29, 2022, and January 28, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,601,363 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,116,683. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,483,267 cases. Of the 9,483,267 confirmed cases, 48,314 are imported; 9,434,899 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 16,246 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 16,246 deaths, 16,225 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
