The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (Taiwan CDC) announced the winner of the bid for the procurement of 5 million doses of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine. Adimmune Corporation is the winner of the bid and is required to supply the requested amount of vaccine doses to the government by the end of October, 2009 according to the contract awarded to the company.
The second round of the bidding process for the procurement of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine was closed on July 10, 2009.Adimmune Corporation was the sole bidder.According to Article 48 of the Government Procurement Act, the second bidding round is not limited by the number of bidders participated in the bidding process.Therefore, despite only one bidder participated in the second bidding process for the procurement of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine, the process was proceeded with.After price negotiations, Adimmune Corporation was awarded a contract to supply pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine to the government at NT$199 per dose. The contract will be recently signed.Other procurements can thus be subsequently proceeded with.The deadline for supplying the requested amount of vaccine doses to the government is October, 30, 2009.The vaccine to be supplied has to be approved for use by the Department of Health prior to inspection and acceptance.
