CECC confirms 18,179 more COVID-19 cases, including 18,150 domestic cases and 29 imported cases

On November 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 18,179 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 18,179 new cases, 18,150 are domestic and 29 are imported. The CECC announced 38 deaths today.

Regarding the 18,150 new domestic cases, 8,405 are male and 9,725 are female, while the gender of the other 20 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,726 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,496 in Taichung City, 2,431 in Kaohsiung City, 1,754 in Tainan City, 1,726 in Taoyuan City, 1,520 in Taipei City, 970 in Changhua County, 660 in Pingtung County, 538 in Miaoli County, 498 in Hsinchu County, 466 in Yunlin County, 438 in Hsinchu City, 331 in Chiayi County, 317 in Yilan County, 311 in Nantou County, 249 in Hualien County, 243 in Chiayi City, 236 in Keelung City, 142 in Taitung County, 53 in Kinmen County, 42 in Penghu County, and three in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 38 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 23 men and 15 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 29 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 23 and November 21, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,945,336 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,749,533. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,193,072 cases. Of the 8,193,072 confirmed cases, 37,315 are imported; 8,155,703 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,029 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,029 deaths, 14,012 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
