On August 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 22,909 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 22,909 new cases, 22,650 are domestic and 259 are imported. The CECC announced 44 deaths today.

Regarding the 22,650 new domestic cases, 10,296 are male and 12,343 are female, while the gender of the other 11 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,377 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,808 in Taichung City, 2,604 in Taoyuan City, 2,579 in Taipei City, 1,996 in Kaohsiung City, 1,594 in Tainan City, 944 in Changhua County, 690 in Miaoli County, 678 in Hsinchu County, 598 in Pingtung County, 572 in Yunlin County, 530 in Hsinchu City, 464 in Yilan County, 394 in Nantou County, 380 in Hualien County, 358 in Chiayi County, 342 in Keelung City, 245 in Chiayi City, 184 in Taitung County, 171 in Kinmen County, 129 in Penghu County, and 13 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 44 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 26 men and 18 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 259 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 13 and August 10, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 15,294,069 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,461,016. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,824,550 cases. Of the 4,824,550 confirmed cases, 22,574 are imported; 4,801,922 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 9,342 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 9,342 deaths, 9,327 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
