CECC confirms 32,681 more COVID-19 cases, including 32,567 domestic cases and 114 imported cases

On July 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32,681 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32,681 new cases, 32,567 are domestic and 114 are imported. The CECC announced 88 deaths today.

Regarding the 32,567 new domestic cases, 15,003 are male and 17,552 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 4,666 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,448 in Taichung City, 3,886 in Kaohsiung City, 3,212 in Taoyuan City, 2,894 in Tainan City, 2,722 in Taipei City, 2,004 in Changhua County, 1,264 in Pingtung County, 867 in Yunlin County, 859 in Hsinchu County, 789 in Miaoli County, 764 in Hsinchu City, 763 in Yilan County, 680 in Nantou County, 674 in Chiayi County, 477 in Hualien County, 463 in Keelung City, 411 in Chiayi City, 347 in Taitung County, 193 in Penghu County, 156 in Kinmen County, and 28 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 88 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 55 men and 33 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 114 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 30 and July 2, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,573,643 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,699,948. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,870,528 cases. Of the 3,870,528 confirmed cases, 14,913 are imported; 3,855,561 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 6,956 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 6,956 deaths, 6,941 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
