On February 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 23,394 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 23,394 new cases, 22,980 are domestic and 414 are imported. The CECC announced 45 deaths today.

Regarding the 22,980 new domestic cases, 10,696 are male and 12,270 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,289 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,906 in Kaohsiung City, 2,900 in Taichung City, 2,263 in Taoyuan City, 2,029 in Taipei City, 1,993 in Tainan City, 1,112 in Changhua County, 682 in Pingtung County, 653 in Hsinchu County, 629 in Miaoli County, 580 in Yilan County, 538 in Yunlin County, 498 in Hsinchu City, 368 in Chiayi County, 366 in Nantou County, 349 in Keelung City, 300 in Hualien County, 207 in Chiayi City, 165 in Taitung County, 78 in Kinmen County, 68 in Penghu County, and seven in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 45 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 24 men and 21 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 414 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between January 7 and February 5, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,894,218 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,183,479. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,708,863 cases. Of the 9,708,863 confirmed cases, 50,643 are imported; 9,658,166 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 16,795 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 16,795 deaths, 16,774 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
