According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), as of 10 am on December 30, 2009, a total of 5,244,184 vaccines have been administered in Taiwan. The supplies of both Novartis and Adimmune vaccines remain stable. Roughly the same amounts of Novartis and Adimmune vaccines are left at the contracted hospitals.Approximately 982,190 Novartis vaccines and 1,446,480 Adimmune vaccines are left.As the weather gets colder and colder, influenza viruses continue to remain active. CECC once again urged the public to get the pandemic H1N1 vaccine.

Since the occurrence of vaccine adverse events is not related to the brand of vaccine administered, it was decided during the 39th meeting held by CECC that the policy of vaccinating people regardless of the brand used remain in effect. To stick to the policy stance, people do not get to choose the brand of vaccine they receive.

CECC announced the latest domestic H1N1 epidemic surveillance data.No new death has occurred and six new hospitalized cases have been reported: a 3-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and an 85-year-old man in northern Taiwan, a 6-year-old boy in central Taiwan, and a 14-year-old boy and a 47-year-old woman in southern Taiwan.
